With the AnNex programme drawing to a close, the Nottingham team have been looking back at the things we've done and thinking about the value of reflexivity. As touched on in an earlier blog post, AnNex has brought together differently positioned individuals in differing disciplines to explore distinct but interconnected aspects of animal research. Considering how reflexivity might be practiced and experienced across research teams, rather than by the lone researcher, this report offers a brief review of literature on reflexive practice in qualitative research teams. Covering some of the key benefits and challenges of team-based reflexivity and highlighting tools and methods for putting it into practice, this report may offer a useful overview to aid in planning and enacting reflexivity in research teams.
